Following is the job interview conversation between an interviewer, I and a candidate, C:
I: “Hello, [Candidate’s Name], welcome! We are glad to have you here today. Before we start, please let me introduce myself. My name is [Your Name], and I will be leading our discussion today. We’ll try to learn more about you today and explore how your skills and experiences meet the requirements for the post of [Job Title]. Are you comfortable and ready to begin? “
I: “Now, take us through your professional chronology. Please tell us something about your background and indicate the most important turning points of your career.“
C: [Candidate elaborates on their professional experience underlining relevant achievements and responsibility.
I: “What motivated you to pursue a career in [industry/field]?”
C: [Candidate shares his or her motivation and passion for the industry.]
I: “How do you usually go about acquiring new skills so you remain relevant in your field?”
C: [Candidate discusses how he or she goes about his or her approach in skill development and continuous learning.]
I: “Can you give examples of how you have applied these- [specific skill] in previous jobs?”
C: [Candidate gives concrete examples of his or her skills relevant to the position being offered.
I: “Our company is based upon the principle of [specific value]. How do you think you will contribute to the culture of our company?”
C: The candidate talks about how his or her values match the company’s and how he or she will be able to contribute towards positive company culture.
I: “What do you think diversity and inclusion play in a successful work environment?”
C: Candidate discusses their views regarding diversity and inclusion and how important it is in the workplace.
I: “Describe a situation where you encountered a major problem in your work area. How did you handle it?”
C: Candidate describes the challenge, their actions, and the outcome of their approach.
I: “Can you give an example about any project where you needed to work in a team with diversified culture to solve a complex problem?
C: Describe the project, your role and responsibilities in the team, and how you contributed to problem solving.
I: “That concludes today’s interview, [Candidate’s Name]. Thanks for sharing all your experiences and knowledge with us. Do you have any final questions or remarks before we close down?”
C: Questions one may have about the position, company, or next steps.
I: “Thank you for your time and interest in [Company Name]. We will be in touch regarding the next steps in our hiring process. Have a great day!
